1. Introduction

The movieclips that are made out of the interviews at YOI are online in a very compact format, which makes it possible to download them easily through the internet to your computer. Due to the fact, that a shared download is much faster and saves server capacities, we decided to make the clips available through the BitTorrent technology. Furthermore the videos are in the .ogg file format, which combines very good quality with minimum file- sizes. This little text should help you download and watch the interviews. If you anyway get problems, please feel free to contact us for help.

2. Installing BitTorrent

If you click on any of the interviews, you will come to a site, where you get more information about the clip and down there you have to click on "Download: torrent", to get the torrent- file for that single clip. Save this file on your computer. Do the same thing for the other interviews, if you want them, too.
To get the videos now you need a programm that is able to connect to our torrent- server. Even if it seems unnessecary at the first view, we consider BitTorrent technology as an important possibility especially for smale scale servers. So please take your 10 minutes to download one of the following programs (about 5-10 Megabytes in size).

For Mac OS X, Linux, Free and Open BSD we would suggest you to use:
Transmission

For Windows and others:
uTorrent

Download one of them and install it on your computer. After that open the downloaded torrent- files with Transmission/uTorrent. The download of the videointerviews should start automatically now.

3. Get and install VLC Player

If you don't have it already, we suggest to use the VideoLAN Player (VLC) to be able to watch the interviews in ogg. format. Besides that, the player comes with support for many video and audio formats. There are other player for .ogg files out there too, so if you prefer use one of them.

4. Watch the interviews

Now that you have the player you only need to wait until the download via the BitTorrent program finishes. You will find the interviews in your download folder of the program. Open it simply with the VideoLAN player and enjoy.
